I sent in my form, but have heard nothing and my ballot has yet to arrive...

Q: I sent in my voter registration to my last county, but have yet to receive a ballot and the election is just one month away. Is this normal? Should I expect it soon, or should I be re-registering? Should I be contacting the country clerk office?

A: It would be wise to look up your election official in the Election Official Directory and call in to confirm that your application was received and accepted for 2008 and you were sent your ballot. While you have them on the phone, take a moment to confirm your mailing address to make sure it is correct!

If you are registered to vote, but your ballot is lost or late, you can use the Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot (if this is a federal general election).

Just check in first with your county and see if they have even sent the ballots out yet.

As a registered voter you have the right to use both of these ballots (if this is a federal general election). If you use the Federal Write-in Ballot and then your ballot shows up, you should still complete the state ballot sent to you and it will replace the Federal Write-in Absentee Ballot. This is perfectly acceptable.
