When will you send my ballot?

Your local election office in the United States sends out the absentee ballots to overseas and uniformed services voters. The absentee ballots should be sent out to voters 45 days before the election, for those who have already submitted their Voter Registration/Absentee Ballot Request forms for that election year.

If you are expecting an absentee ballot that doesn't arrive, the first question is whether you submitted your Voter Registration/Absentee Ballot Request form to your local election official earlier that year.

Our website helps you to generate a completed Voter Registration/Absentee Ballot Request form which then has to be downloaded, printed, signed, and sent to your local election office in the United States. Entering your data and saving it in a Voter Account is not sufficient - you must download, print, sign, and send in your form to the appropriate election office. When you download the completed form to your computer, the file will contain instructions regarding where to send your completed and signed form.

If you submitted your Voter Registration/Absentee Ballot Request form and are waiting for your ballot, then you can contact your local election office and ask them to confirm that you will be receiving an absentee ballot. You can look up the contact information for your local election office in the Election Official Directory on this website.

If you sent in your Voter Registration/Absentee Ballot Request form but your absentee ballot doesn't arrive in time for you to vote, then you can use the Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot, or FWAB, in place of the official absentee ballot.

If you have not yet sent in your Voter Registration/Absentee Ballot Request form and the deadline hasn't passed, please go to "Voter Registration/Absentee Ballot Request" on our website and start the process to generate the form. If you have a Voter Account, you can log into your account and print the form from there. At the very end of the process to generate the form, please download your form, print it, sign it, and send it to the address provided in the instruction that will print with your form. Please note that there are deadlines for submitting the Voter Registration/Absentee Ballot Request form - you can find the deadlines on our website.
