For overseas voters, the FWAB can be sent through Express Your Vote (see below) or by international airmail postage and postmarked from overseas.
For Election 2008, OVF and FedEx Express are offering a special ballot return program called: Express Your Vote. Please visit: www.overseasvotefoundation.org/ExpressYourVote for more information. Voters in 89 countries will be offered free or highly discounted services for ballot return. Ballot delivery is automatically confirmed.Â
If you use postal mail, it is best to mail it early from the post office and make sure it is postmarked to show the mailing date was before Election Day.
Military APO/FPO addresses also comply both inside and outside the U.S. Be careful to note that Military Post can take an average of 13-18 days from combat areas. We recommend the FedEx supported Express Your Vote for assurance that your ballot arrives in time.
Do not rely on the US Embassy or Consulate to express your ballot back in time. There may be some assistance through American Citizen Services, however, it varies depending on which country you are in. The best is for you to use Express Your Vote or to walk your FWAB into a post office with enough time for mail delivery.
