How do I fill out the Federal Write-in Absentee Ballot (FWAB)?

Our FWAB offers you a Vote-Print-Mail Ballot System. This system will present you with federal level candidate lists associated with your election jurisdiction for you to choose from. If you do not wish to vote for a candidate on the list, you can leave the selection blank and write-in your candidate or party choice upon printing The FWAB.

The FWAB cover sheet is nearly identical to the Voter Registration/Ballot Request form, however it is titled “Voter's Declaration/Affirmation - Federal Write-in Absentee Ballot”. Our system assists you to complete the cover sheet properly, per your state requirements, and provides you with complete instructions after printing.

If you have a Voter Account, you can simply log in and choose to download a Federal Write-in Absentee Ballot. The system will start your FWAB form and pull your already entered data in for you to confirm step-by-step, saving you time on data re-entry. You will then be presented with the candidate lists for you to choose from. If, for some reason, the candidate list is not provided, the system will suggest nonpartisan sites that you can visit for candidate information in order to complete your write-in ballot by hand.

After completing the FWAB form, you must Download, Print, Sign and Mail in the FWAB to the address provided in the instruction letter. It is important that you read the instruction letter so that you know where and how to mail in your form!

You can find the FWAB form here on our website, or you can visit our website’s homepage and click “View Details” under “Federal Write-in Absentee Ballot”.
