When should I use the Federal Write-in Absentee Ballot (FWAB)?
 

The Federal Absentee Write-in Ballot (FWAB) is for use when your official ballot did not arrive in time.

Our FWAB offers you a Vote-Print-Mail Ballot System. It presents you with federal level candidate lists associated with your election jurisdiction. Just point, click and choose your candidate,or choose to leave the selection blank for you to write-in your candidate or party choice.

For the November General Election, we suggest that if you sent in your registration/ballot request form already and haven't received your official ballot from your local election office by mid October that you complete and send in the FWAB.

If you have a Voter Account, you can simply login and click to print your FWAB. The system will take you through the data-entry process with your information pre-filled into the fields. You can update/edit your information or just click "Continue" if it is accurate.

A Voter Account is not required to generate a FWAB.

Overseas Vote's system will assist you in generating a complete and accurate cover page that is identical to your registration/ballot request form -- as per the federal requirements. The FWAB must be printed. You will see that several pages follow with instructions and a page for you to write-in the candidates of your choice. The instructions pages will include the address for mailing your FWAB.

Note, some states allow faxing or emailing of voted ballots. Check the State Voter Information directory, Voting Materials Transmission Options for your state's allowed ballot return options.
