Which States have expanded use of the FWAB?

The Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot (FWAB) is accepted in ALL states for registered voters who have requested a ballot and whose ballots do not arrive in time for voting in federal elections.

The FWAB is intended for ballot emergencies – last minute registration does not allow time for you to provide additional or corrected information in the case of a registration denial.

The following states require you to register and request an Absentee Ballot before filling out the FWAB form: AL, AS, AR, CT, FL, GU, HI, ID, IL, IN, KS, LA, NH, NJ, NM, NY, PA, PR, RI, SD, TX, WI, WV, and WY.*
